Brabus implemented mpx in two different areas of its operations at it global headquarters in Bottrop Germany.
The first project was in Warehouse 1(Werk 1) where mpx was implement on a new Weland compact lift. The lift is used to store interior trim items.
When a car is undergoing the Brabus upgrade, the interior trim items are removed and sent to the fabrication area where they are given the Brabus improvement. Once completed the trim items are then stored in the Weland Compact Lift. mpx allows the user to select a generic item such as steering wheel, and when storing the item, enter the project number of the car. When the car is ready to be put back together then the mpx operator simply enters the project number of the car, and mpx will then generate a pick process to remove all the trim items for the specific car in one simple operation.
The second project was in Warehouse 6(Werk 6) which is the main warehouse that stocks 1000's of spare parts. mpx is currently being integrated via its RESTful JSON service to the ERP application Brabus uses. As orders are raised in the ERP, they will be presented to mpx operator allowing them to quickly pick orders by selecting the order from the mpx, which will then bring all the items on the order to the mpx operator.
